The Final Stage

Transformation may occur in physical properties, as philosopher’s stones are sought through transmutation of ordinary materials. More significantly in 21st century, the alchemical process is analogous to our psychological and spiritual growth as evident in Carl Jung’s research. In Jungian psychology, the key journey and aim of one’s self is individuation that stems from our earlier undifferentiated unconsciousness.

I explore this dual meanings of alchemistry in a site-specific installation using a projection mapping. I am interested in physically transforming a static statue (a replica of The Moses of Michelangel) into a kinetic statue by covering it with dynamic textures, while exploring the spiritual transformation of Moses in his bibilical struggle.
